About Abe Abe has been practicing law in Arkansas since 1989. From 2002- 2007, he was the General Counsel for Staffmark, a nationwide temporary staffing company, and the Vice President Associate General Counsel for Stephens Inc. In these positions, Abe provided legal advice and assistance to the officers and managers of these companies on all employment-related matters. He also represented the companies before administrative agencies, and coordinated with outside counsel on litigation matters. Prior to becoming in-house counsel, Abe was the managing partner of Cross, Gunter, Witherspoon & Galchus, an 18-lawyer firm in Little Rock, Arkansas, that concentrates on labor and employment law. At the same time, he continued to handle employment law issues and litigation, ERISA litigation and benefit plan counseling, commercial litigation, and insurance defense matters for clients. Abe is a frequent speaker on employment law and benefits issues at the local, state and national level. Prior to entering law school, Abe worked in the Human Resources departments of Beverly Enterprises and Donrey Media Group in Fort Smith, Arkansas. Abe is a member of the American (Labor & Employment, Employee Benefits) and Arkansas (Labor & Employment) Bar Associations; the Defense Research Institute; the Thomas More Society. |
